Cloud Nine Higher

If you look at my Cloud Nine Higher  baseball themed photo shoot from September 2020, you know who my favorite teams are. And because of cable television history and geography, many folks in Nashville love the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs.  As for the Milwaukee Brewers? I see where they have a Robin Yount bobblehead day coming up at American Family Field. Yount was a star shortstop for the team back in the 1980s era when the Brew Crew was in the American League and lost to my Cardinals four games to three in the 1982 World Series. They are the parent club of the Nashville Sounds. Other than that, I don't know much about this first-place team.   Lisa Piercey simply doesn't deserve any grief from the Tennessee General Assembly. And I'm not defending her just because she is a fellow graduate of Lipscomb University (I do not know her personally). I'm defending her because we need a strong Department of Health now more than ever.  The commissioner of health and member of the cabinet of Governor Bill Lee recently got some heat from the Republican-dominated state legislature (same party) over COVID-19 vaccination ads that allegedly pressure minor children into receiving vaccinations. This was reported by The Tennessean in an article written by Brett Kelman.   The same article reports that only 35% of our state's population is fully vaccinated. A sad stat indeed. Some say that it is a matter of political pushback in a "red state" still sore over the election of Joe Biden to the Presidency during the pandemic year of 2020.
